Marlee Morris is an energetic mixed gender Cotswold/Border Morris dancing side who couple skilled dance display with live music provided by talented and knowledgeable musicians. The group comprises members who have considerable dancing experience having formed in 2018 from other Perth Morris sides. Members gathered because they were interested in performing more interesting and challenging dances and have already performed in Sydney at the 2018 National Ale.
The name Marlee is the Noongar indigenous word for the Black Swan which is a symbol of Western Australia (WA). We proudly represent WA and the broad Australian Morris community.
Marlee Morris would like to acknowledge the Wadjuk Noongar people as custodians of the land on which we dance and we wish to pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging. We also acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.
